Things Happening at Patrol Books

In the last few weeks great things have been happening at Patrol Books. Let's recap!

Interviews

A couple of weeks ago Eleazar & Rommel Ruiz were interviewed by MLoveizm Magazine. MLoveizM magazine is an online art magazine serving to market and inspire skilled artists through personal mentorship, business training, and community development.

Here is an excerpt from the interview:

MLoveM: What makes Golly’s Folly different from other children’s books? Due to these differences how did you have to go about publishing?

Eleazar: I believe that the most significant difference of Golly’s Folly from other children’s books is its helpfulness to parents, caregivers, and educators. The story can potentially be a hard one to tell young children because of its complexity and depth. I mean, what child cares about the meaning of life, you know? Not only was the message/content uncommon among children’s books, but we also wanted the illustration quality to be uncommon as well we, wanted the highest level. Unfortunately this is not something commonly seen in a book targeting the christian market. That discovery then pushed us to launch Patrol Books , a publisher who cares about biblical literature, beautifully astounding products, and fair compensation.

Additionally, Eleazar and Bekah Ruiz were interviewed by Sean Nolan from Gospel Centered Discipleship. Gospel-Centered Discipleship exists to publish resources that help make, mature, and multiply disciples of Jesus.

Excerpt:

GCD: So what is that one point you want kids to take away from Golly’s Folly?

BR: The majority of the story is spent on Golly’s rollercoaster of seeking. At the end, he repents of his folly and returns to his father because he recognizes ultimate fulfillment is found in him. The point is to teach kids to seek God above all else.

This past weekend we were privileged to attend the Canvas Conference. The Canvas Conference humbly exists to inform all acts of human creativity and beauty with biblical, gospel-centered theology for the worship of the triune God.

Humble Beast were kind enough to let us promote Golly's Folly in their store. We had the chance to meet lots of people and have great conversations.

After talking with some key leaders, we might have some projects to work on in the next year or so. More of that to come. We are super excited!

Finally, the cherry on top of the cake Thomas Terry (Owner of Humble Beast and rapper in the band Beautiful Eulogy) approached Eleazar and Rommel asking them to participate in the conference's creative panel. The creative panel was meant to be a place where conference attenders had the opportunity to ask creatives questions about theology, creativity and their practical implications.
